Book Review: The BHAGAVAD GITA For MILLENNIALS

  • Initial Book Cover Impressions:
    – From the cover, the book looks like an perfect answer for all the millennials out there.
    – Everyone knows that one should read THE BHAGAVAD GITA once in their lifetime.

             – This holy book contains the open secret of how to live our life and many other aspects. But for one reason or the other, the Gen Z or the Millennials of today are not able to connect with this book due to various reasons like:

1. The Language is too heavy to understand
2. The book is so fat that it is not possible to read it, let alone understanding it
3. No other alternative books/solutions for it

–   Looking at the cover of this book, it feels as this book is the perfect solution of all the reasons for not reading THE BHAGAVAD GITA.

– The Cover makes us feel as if how can the teachings of THE BHAGAVAD GITA can be learnt and applied in today’s time and for the Millennials.

  • What? (Is the book about):

– The books deep dives into the shlokas, verses, sentences and dissects its meaning. It  gives factual details about THE BHAGAVD GITA.

– It throws light into all the statistics, multiple translations by various authors since ages known and also translates the book written in various other languages.

  • Why? (Should anyone read it or not?):
    – This books helps in getting your facts straight. it tries to debunk all the myth related to the timing of the war, who wrote it, how many translations are there, which might be correct and which might not be exactly to what it is written.             – – You should only read this book if you’re interested in knowing the facts and myths surrounding the writings, timings and authenticity of THE BHAGAVAD GITA.

  • My Opinion:
    – This is very few of the books where i had to pull myself a lot to read this book.
    – Initially looking at its cover, I felt that this book would relate the teachings from THE BHAGAVAD GITA in today’s time, for today’s generation i.e., THE MILLENNIALS but it came as a disappointment to me as the author’s whole intention of this book is talk about facts / statistics.
    – I was really excited to see the storyline and how it unfolds but it came out as a completely different book.
    – I would suggest to read this book only for those who has a good amount of knowledge and a great amount of interest in THE BHAGAVAD GITA relating to its statistics and facts.

In the end, I had to leave this book midway but I hope few years down the line, I can find it
more interesting then what I felt this time.

Thank You!
